Swimmer of the Month for August 2014 - Sophie!

Congratulations to Sophie for being chosen as Swimmer of the Month for August. Sophie is one of our older swimmers, currently competing in the 13/14 category and has been with Trafford for 4+ years.

Sophie is always friendly, polite and courteous to coaches and fellow swimmers and is a popular member of Trafford.

Sophie recently passed her Skills Level 4 and we were all delighted that she achieved those dreaded splits!

We asked Sophie a few questions to get to know her better ...

What is it you enjoy about synchro?
Keeping up my fitness and being with my friends

What is your proudest moment while you have been swimming for Trafford?
Coming 13th at figures at Scottish Nationals

What is your favourite routine so far and why?
The Happy Feet routine - It was my first routine and I got the chance to work with different age groups

What are you not so keen on?
Getting up on a Sunday morning (Don't we know! ;-))

What would you like to achieve in the next year?
I'd like to get a medal for the duet I am doing with Eleanor at British Nationals in December

Thanks to Sophie for answering our questions - Good Luck with the duet! (And those Sunday mornings) x

Swimmers of the Month - March/April

We have 2 Swimmers of the Month here at Trafford. 2 of our youngest swimmers, who both only started synchro last October.

Freya Henderson and Violet Costello (both age 7) bring so much fun to our training sessions. They show it is possible to exercise, work hard and enjoy yourself at the same time.

Neither of the girls are old enough to formally compete until 2015 but this hasn't stopped them from getting stuck in.

Congratulations girls!

We welcome swimmers 7 and over at Trafford, so if you think your daughter might like to try synchro, please feel free to contact us at

Gold Medal for Trafford at British Champs

Massive congratulations go to 2 of our swimmers who recently came away with Gold medals at the Synchronised Swimming British Championships. The competition was held a couple of weeks ago at Pond's Forge, Sheffield.

Fiona Currie & Olivia Monks (both 16) performed their technical duet routine on the Saturday of the comp and were delighted with their first place position!

Fiona & Olivia are experiencing stardom as news of their success has spread to many of the region's press - Sale Messenger, Warrington Guardian and Wilmslow Express (See pictured)

The girls are looking forward to swimming their routine again at other competitions later in the year but first have to get their GCSE's over with - Good Luck girls!

Swimmers of the Month 2014

Congratulations to our Swimmers of the Month so far this year. Millie Costello (January 2014) and Eleanor Monks (February 2014). Both of the girls have shown how incredibly committed they are to synchro and to their club this year. They both attend most training sessions and show great team work .

We asked the girls a few questions to find out more about them. Over to you girls ...

What is your favourite thing about synchro and why?

Millie: I really enjoy working on my duet & going to England Talent training camps in London. They help my stamina & technique to improve.
Eleanor: I like learning and swimming the routines best.

What are you not so keen on about synchro?

Millie: I don't enjoy getting up early in the morning to go training.
Eleanor: I am not so keen on practising my figures

What is your proudest moment in synchro?

Millie: I got to swim my solo at Nationals. I enjoyed the routine even though it was challenging.
Eleanor: Coming 10th at Scottish nationals in 2013!

What is your favourite routine and why?

Millie: My new solo because I really like the music and it is very hard so it will make me work harder.
Eleanor: My solo is my favourite routine so far because it is really hard and I enjoy swimming hard routines.

What would you like to achieve in the next year?

Millie: I would like to get a medal in either my solo or my figures.
Eleanor: In the next year, I would like to be flat in right leg splits in the water.

Thank you for answering the questions girls and congratulations once again!
